Housing Authority Elects Officers for 2008/9

At its annual meeting in September, the Oak Park Housing Authority elected its slate of officers for 2008/9. Jeffrey Taren, a partner in the Chicago law firm of Kinoy, Taren & Geraghty, was elected Chairman. Serving as Vice-Chairman is Edna Chapman and Ray Barbosa was elected Secretary/Treasurer.

Also serving on the Board of Commissioners are Carol Blackman, Louis Butler, Linda Hill, and Perry Vietti.

The Oak Park Housing Authority is an Illinois Municipal Corporation that was established in 1946 to assist low income elderly residents and families in finding affordable housing. It also owns and operates Mills Park Tower, a 199-unit building for low-income elderly residents. The seven-member Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority is appointed by the Village President and each serves a five-year term.
